Hello, my name is Dr. Chad Ho. I earned my B.S. in Biochemistry at California State University, Long Beach and my Doctor of Dental Surgery at University of Southern California. It was between undergraduate and dental school when I really found my passion for dentistry. 

 

During my senior year at Long Beach State, I was really debating whether my career should be in research or clinic; and greatly considered medicine as opposed to dentistry. Because of this, I started volunteering at medical and dental clinics. It was at these clinics where I realized I could help patients directly and be more hands-on. I saw the mixture of art in science being put into practice. That’s when I knew dentistry would be for me. I soon after becoming more involved and shadowed for hundreds of hours with several dentists, including Dr. Liu and Dr. Zamora here at Family & Cosmetic Dentistry. 

 

These foundations paved the way for me. I continued to volunteer with USC’s AYUDA and Mobile clinics. At these clinics, we would bring dental equipment to various locations, such as schools, and provide dental care to children and adults from Bakersfield to Mexico. My days volunteering, however, started way before I was interested in dentistry. In middle school, I joined a youth group known as Lion’s Heart. I held several office positions and received various awards such as the youth presidential award for service hours. In addition, I was involved in Scouts of America and earned my rank of Eagle Scout. From there, I was involved with various groups such as Long Beach B.L.A.S.T, where I mentored students towards a path leading to college and Young & Healthy where I would travel to 1st grade classrooms and teach them about how to keep a healthy smile. 

 

I now live in Mountain’s Edge with my wife Caitlin and our dog Otis and practice full-time here at Family & Cosmetic Dentistry. I am a member of the American Dental Association and our local chapter Nevada Dental Association. Additionally, I am a member of the Academy and General Dentists, American Academy of Implant Dentistry and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry; and, looking towards a fellowship with each organization. Aside from dentistry, I enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. Everything from watching TV and movies, video and board games to hiking, camping and snowboarding.
